Student Projects

In order that the students obtained practical experience in the productions of a body of work, I chaired special studies project at Smith College.  It was expected that students conceived and executed work that was exhibited in the student exhibition. Group and individual critiques were scheduled through out the semester.  At Hampshire the student project took the form of divisional examinations. Divisonal examinations were part of the college's evaluation process.  During the course of the student's academic, they were expected to present a portfolio that summed up their educational experience.  For the film and photographic majors that portfolio was generally photographic in nature.
